Welcome to Troop 265's Website!

Troop 265 was established in 1972 and is chartered by Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas. The troop averages 50-70 registered scouts and has produced over 120 Eagle scouts.

We meet every Monday (except for LISD holidays) at the Scout Hut at Lamb of God Lutheran Church, 1401 Cross Timbers Road, Flower Mound, TX 75028. For more information, or to schedule a visit, please use the Contact Us link on the left.

Star Rank Requirement CHANGE

Requirement 6 in the Star rank has been changed. The Cyber Chip is no longer required; instead, Scouts may view the provided safety education videos at the provided link to get Requirement 6 signed off by an adult leader.

Accepting donations of gently-used uniform pieces

Has your scout hit a growth-spurt and outgrown pieces of his uniform? Are there extra Class B t-shirts laying around your house? Spring is a great time for cleaning, it’s also when we have new scouts bridging to the Troop who are in need of uniform pieces. Please consider donating your scout’s outgrown, gently-used and clean uniform pieces to the Troop’s uniform cabinet in the HUT. And if your scout is in need of a scout shirt, scout pants, or a Class B t-shirt, you may want to check out the donation closet before you head to the Scout Shop! For help with donating or retrieving uniform items, contact Casey Johnston

Summer Camp RSVP

Katie Rudolph and I have been working to line up 2024 summer camp opportunities for our boys. A couple of weeks ago, we hosted a Q&A session during a Troop meeting; we followed up that meeting with a summary email. We have had a very positive response to both camp offerings (Bartle and Orr), but we need to formalize those responses into actual RSVPs.

Camp Orr Summer Camp

Troop 265 is planning to join in the fun at Camp Orr this year.  It is located near Jasper, Arkansas, along the Buffalo National River and is sheltered on all sides by beautiful forest within the National Park Service.  Scouts will have the opportunity to choose from a large variety of merit badges, hike forest trails, swim in the river, enjoy an ice cream social and much more, all within a 5 day camp week.

Troop 265 is planning to participate June 15 - 22, 2024.  Cost for scouts will be around $325 (depending on merit badge selections) and $150 for participating adults.
